Fapcci to host 2-day seminar on SMEs

As part of the ongoing public-private initiative to rejuvenate small and medium enterprises (SME) sector in the state, the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fapcci) is organising a two-day seminar with the theme being "Focus SME- Unleashing the power" on May 20 -21.
 
Interestingly, the Indian School of Business (ISB) is taking part in the event along with Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation (APSFC), State Bank of Hyderabad and the Andhra Pradesh government.
 
"The issues related to a single goal as to how to make the sector more competitive would be discussed in threadbare during the seminar. Apart from this, promoters of various profit-making enterprises will share their success stories ," O P Goenka, president of Fapcci, said here today.
 
Apart from discussions on topics such as energy saving, impact of information technology on SME sector, cost-effectiveness and technology upgradation, the organisers are also conducting an exhibition on the services and opportunities available to the SME players.
 
According to Goenka, about 40 stalls will be set up to showcase these products. Participants in the exhibition include, National Thermal Power Corporation, State Bank of India, South Central Railways and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
 
K I Varaprasad Reddy, managing director, Shantha Biotech, G Subba Rao, chairman, Crane betel nut powder, S Subramonia Sarma, director, Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development at ISB will be some of the speakers.
