The scheme is valid in the twin cities and surrounding municipalities. Consumers, who purchase goods worth morethan Rs 100 from any registered dealer, should insist on bills and present the same at any e-Seva counter. e-Seva staff in turn will provide a coupon, which has to be filled up by consumers.
The original should be dropped in a box at e-Seva for lucky dip. Mahabill has prizes ranging from Rs 1 lakh to wrist watches. Fapcci organised a meeting with the commissioner of commercial taxes here today on Mahabill scheme.
Fapcci suggested that dealers should be allowed to print coupons as it would be difficult for the consumers to get coupons from e-Seva counters. It also suggested that the value of gifts should be based on the value of bills.
