As a part of its efforts to create two million jobs in the exports sector by 2009, the Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) has entered into an agreement with a Rajasthan government-owned institute, to generate adequate manpower resources in the sector in the state. The organisation is also planning similar tie-ups in other parts of north India. |
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between FIEO and the Entrepreneurship and Management Development Institute (EMI), Jaipur, also aims at creating awareness about exports. |
FIEO Chairman (northern region) R K Dhawan, who inked the MoU, said he has plans to sign similar agreements with all state governments in the region. |
The agreement is aimed at complementing the activities of both the organisations, a FIEO statement said. |
While FIEO has global experience, practical knowhow and large pool of professional exporting firms, EMI has institutional structure needed for broadbasing entrepreneurship and upgrading management skills, for accelerating industrial growth in Rajasthan. |
The MoU will help FIEO use EMI's reach across Rajasthan as well as support from the union government and global agencies like the World Bank to develop and imbibe export culture in the state, FIEO said in a statement. |
