In a victory of sorts for the Anna Hazare camp, Delhi Police virtually withdrew pre-conditions for the proposed anti-corruption fast and is said to have granted nod for holding it in Ramlila Maidan.

As of now, there is no restriction on the number of people joining the fast, with 7 days extendable limit for protest.

The report was confirmed by Hazare supporter Manish Sisodia.

However, Hazare is reportedly adamant that he wants to continue his protest for as long as he wants to and is insisting on his unconditional release.

Sisodia said Anna wanted a written approval for the venue. He said the discussions were on and they wanted the venue for one month.

The restrictions on the crowd and vehicles are likely to be removed since Ramlila Maidan is a much larger ground.

However, the government has suggested that they should be no demand for fast-unto-death and it will depute a team of doctors which will be continuously conduct medical examinations, sources said.

While there is no restriction on number of protesters or vehicles, the government has conveyed that no loudspeakers will be allowed beyond 10 pm.
