Finance minister Yashwant Sinha will inaugurate a three-day conference-cum-exposition on infrastructure development being organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi on October 22.
The event, Infranet `98, will focus on surface transport and urban infrastructure projects. It aims to provide a forum for direct interaction among relevant agencies and private developers for finalising an action plan for infrastructure development.
The feasibility, operationalisation and time schedules of various projects will be discussed between government agencies and the prospective implementors.
A number of state governments including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
