Fmcg Units Dominate Xlri Placements

The fast moving consumer goods sector turned out to be the largest recruiter at XLRI Jamshedpur this year. Companies like Hindustan Lever Ltd, Coke, Pepsi, Marico, Reckitt & Benckiser, Colgate Palmolive, and Heinz, Proctor & Gamble will be absorbing some 30 students from the management institute. The biggest lateral offer was from ITC Ltd at Rs 8.1 lakh per annum in the sector.

For the last couple of years the information technology sector had been the largest recruiter from the management institute but this time the sector took second position.

In all, 27 students were recruited by IT companies from a total of 124 student including business management and human resource stream students.

 

Infosys was the largest recruiter offereing jobs to 7 students followed by Wipro, HCL Tech, ITC Infotech, Patni Computers, and Polaris.

The banking sector turned out to be a major recruiter, picking up 17 candidates. Bank of America offered the best job at Rs 9 lakh, followed by Standard Chartered, ABM Amro, ICICI Bank, UTI Bank, Citibank, and IndusInd.
