Foodworld Supermarkets, the Rs 300 crore joint venture between RPG group and Dairy Farm International, is planning contract farming with farms near the city.
The company already has similar arrangements with farmers in Karnataka and is operating a consolidation centre at Hoskote where the farmers and traders come and deliver the fruits and vegetables. It has about 1299 suppliers and 100 contract farms supplying produce.
