Four fishing harbours to be developed

The state government would develop four fishing harbours at a cost of Rs 20 crore each. The harbours are proposed to be developed at Uppada, Juvvaladinne, Nizampatnam Phase II and Antarvedipallepalem. According to an official press release, the Centre will share 75 per cent of the cost of these harbours. It has already sanctioned its share of investment for the Antarvedi harbour. At a review meeting of the animal husbandry and fisheries departments held on Tuesday, chief minister, K Rosaiah, also agreed to the proposal of setting up 400 model sheep breeding farms at a cost of Rs 120 crore and 7,200 sheep and goat rearing units at a cost of Rs 72 crore, the press release stated.
