Fourteenth Finance Commission in Hyderabad for consultations with Telangana govt

Telangana govt also demanding for enhancement of states' share in Central devolutions to 50%

The 14th Finance Commission chairman Y Venugopal Reddy along with the members arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday to hold consultations with the Telangana government Friday.

During the meeting chief minister K Chandra Sekhara Rao is expected to request the commission to allocate grants for massive programmes such as the development of water grid and small irrigation tanks announced by his government.

Similar to other states Telangana government also demanding for enhancement of states' share in Central devolutions to 50%.

Last week the commission has completed its consultations with the AP government.
