Gail In Bid To Sign Lng Supply Pacts

Gas Authority of India (GAIL) is making a bid to sign a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with naphtha-based fertiliser units.

A detailed presentation on this regard was made by it recently on the Dahej LNG import terminal project to fertiliser secretary Nripendra Misra and industry representatives. The presentation outlined the advantages of switching from naphtha to gas.

The fertiliser secretary is learnt to have asked the industry and the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) to examine the various issues involved and come up with concrete suggestions.
