The two-lane road would be an alternative to the National Highway bye-pass from Koinadhara to Rani.
Gogoi announced the road project while dedicating the newly constructed Ahomgaon-Garoghuli road to the people of the state. He added that several other road, bridges, flyover construction projects are in the pipeline.
Gogoi said that the state government has undertaken a special project to beautify the Guwahati city. For that he said a number of flyovers, roads, sports complexes etc. would be constructed in the city in the coming days.
He said that the government is equally committed towards developing the remote and underdeveloped areas of Assam.

"Just developing the Guwahati city will not suffice. We have to develop other regions of the state too," Gogoi said.
He said the state government has assigned special importance for socio-economic development of those regions.
Gogoi also said that various other developmental projects for the remote areas would be undertaken soon by the state government.
Gogoi said that in the last two years the state government has constructed around 4,000 km of roads across the state, as compared to 500 km constructed during the tenure of previous government.
Apart from providing better connectivity to the people residing in remote villages, the road is expected to resolve the recent Assam-Meghalaya border row to a large extent.
The road would not also ease the vehicular traffic congestion on the Guwahati-Shillong Road and the Gopinath Nath Bordoloi Path but also on the National Highway 37.
