The Golden Quadrilateral Road Project, launched in FY01 by the NDA Government, would be completed by December end this year as only 5% of the work remains, Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways K H Muniyappa said today. As much as 95% of the project, involving 5,846 kms, had been completed at a cost of around Rs 30,000 crore, he said here. Muniyappa said work on only 250 kms - in parts of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar - remains to be completed and the delay is mainly because of litigation, he added. |
