Govt appoints Bharat Bhushan Pandit as Deputy CAG of India

The government today appointed Bharat Bhushan Pandit as the deputy Comptroller and Auditor General in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Pandit has been appointed in the pay scale equivalent to secretary of the Government of India with fixed monthly income of Rs 80,000, a government statement said.

He will audit work of ministries of railways, defence, post and telecommunications.

Pandit was earlier additional deputy at the CAG and he looked after audit of states — Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Punjab.

Pandit is a 1977 batch Indian Audits and Accounts Service officer.

Before joining the apex audit body, he worked as the director general, defence audit, member-secretary, audit board and accountant general, Madhya Pradesh government.
