Govt at 'lowest point': BJP

Despite its own opposition to the Indo-US civil nuclear agreement, the BJP today insisted that the UPA government's climbdown on the deal was its "lowest point yet."

Leader of the Opposition L K Advani expressed no surprise at the government's about-turn on the deal.

Advani said the difficulties faced by the UPA government in operationalising the agreement reflected the very nature of the "opportunistic alliance" struck by the Congress and its alliance partners and supporters.
