Govt beefs up security in Ayodhya, diverts trains

 Law and order is a state government subject. And after several years, it is a Mulayam Singh Yadav government that is in power in Lucknow, which has declared it will do everything to prevent a congregation from building up in Ayodhya that could represent a law and order crisis.

 The district administration today sealed all entry points and diverted trains coming to Ayodhya and Faizabad to prevent gathering of kar sevaks.

 Upon his return from Indonesia and Thailand, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said the VHP had promised a peaceful agitation and the organisation should be believed.
