The government today de-reserved 14 items from a list of goods, which can
only be produced by the Small Scale Industries (SSI) sector.
A Commerce and Industry ministry release today said that the de-reserved
items include ground and processed spices, PVC sandals and shoes,
polyethylene films, electrical wiring accessories other than switches,
plugs and sockets as well as some chemical inputs, electrical motors within
the range of 1-10 HP, as well as some plastic moulding products.
With this move, only 21 items will remain in the list of the items which can
be exclusively manufactured by the Small Scale Sector.
