Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said here that the government was expecting a capital flow of around Rs 50,000 crore from the Global Agriculture Investors’ Meet (GAIM) scheduled to be held in Bangalore during June.
After laying the founda-tion stone for the Bhavu-rao Deshpande Veterinary College at Kokatnur in Ath-ani taluk, Yeddyurappa said that the GAIM will be organised on the lines of Global Investors’ Meet held in 2010.
A preliminary meeting with agriculture experts and vice-chancellors of agriculture universities will be held on May 7 at Davanagere to discuss on GAIM. The chief minister also made it clear that there was no intention to acquire agriculture lands belonging to farmers after GAIM.
