Govt, Left agree to discussion on nuke deal

The government and the Left parties have agreed to discussion of the contentious 123 agreement with the US at the beginning of the winter session of Parliament.

The winter session of Parliament is scheduled from December 7. 

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement on the 123 agreement made in the last session will also be taken up for discussion.

In the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Left parties today, which was also attended by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, it was also decided that the next meeting of the UPA-Left committee on the nuclear issue will be held  "as soon as possible".
