To take advantage of the over Rs 200 crore gain to the National Fertilisers Ltd (NFL) on account of the seventh and eighth fertiliser pricing policy, the ministry of chemicals and fertilisers has written to the department of company affairs (DCA) seeking permission to let the PSU declare an interim dividend from 1997-98 onwards.
Top government officials told Business Standard, the ministry of chemicals and fertilisers has asked the DCA if it was possible to let the fertiliser PSU declare an interim dividend with retrospective effect from 1997-98, when the seventh pricing policy was announced.
