Ruling out any measures to regulate the rupee, Commerce Minister Kamal Nath today said that the government may increase refund of state and central taxes to exporters who have been hit by the weakening dollar. "We do not calibrate the rupee but our government will meet different export promotion councils in the next two-three days and see how we can refund some of the state and central taxes to exporters," said Nath, on the sidelines of the golden jubilee function of Chemical and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL). Nath said exporters should step up exports in currencies other than the dollar. |
