| Govt may reduce import duties on edible oil |

| The government is in advanced stages of cutting import duties on edible oil. Official sources said the effective duty on palm oil is expected to come down to 10% from the existing 22%. Earlier this week, the government announced a ban on edible oil export to check rising prices. The country meets about 45% of edible oil requirement through imports.
