The government is considering a proposal to set up a nodal agency for the infotech sector along the lines of the Investment Development Authority of Ireland and the Economic Development Board of Singapore.
The proposed agency will not only ensure that a conducive business environment is created for the sector, but also work with potential customers to facilitate speedy operations.
It will also be acting as the facilitating agency for the infotech sector in the country.
The proposed agency will also work with government departments to ensure that the departments frame policies in accordance with the needs of the industry.
