Govt move to upset residential real estate in south Chennai

 The Kotturpuram area is considered to be a very peaceful and calm residential real estate area, and according to sources this scenario will change with the new project coming up.

 Consumers who have plans of purchasing residential apartments in and around Kotturpuram will no longer consider it a suitable place for their dwelling. Therefore the residential real estate prices are expected to fall.

 Real estate sources say the new secretariat to be housed in the Anna University area is expected to be congested with traffic during the peak hours of the day. First, there should be better infrastructure before such a huge venture is embarked upon, they point out.

 At present, the Tamil Nadu Secretariat is at Fort Saint George (northern part of Chennai) away from the residential area, and well connected by well maintained and wider roads.
