Govt Pins Hopes On Advance Corporate Tax To Manage Revenue Shortfall

After a massive shortfall of about Rs 10,000 crore in the last fiscal, the revenue department is pinning its hopes of improvement in the tax collections for the current financial year on the first installment of advance corporate tax due on June 15.

The revenue department officials said normally direct tax collections in the first two months of every financial year remains low due to the refunds.
