Govt plans 6 AIIMS in backward states: Ramadoss

The central government is planning to set up six institutes similar to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in backward states, Union Minister for Health Ambumani Ramadoss said.

"The institutes, each costing Rs 350 crore, would be set up in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh."

He added that AIIMS authorities in New Delhi have already started working on the projects.
