Govt to allot unique IDs for GIS investors

Dedicated govt officer to initiate process of bringing each investment project out of drawing board

Investors who participate in recently concluded Global Investors Summit in Indore will soon be allotted a unique identification code so that a dedicated government officer for their project can initiate the process to bring the investment project out of drawing board.

State chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and a team of high rank officials reviewed the summit here today. As many as 200 business heavyweights of the country participated in the meet while the total reached 5,500 during the three-day summit.

Besides 107 industrial organisations and public sector undertakings participated in the meet with 2,100 partners from small scale sector.

 

"The unique identification code will be allotted to each interested investors by end of this month. A dedicated officer will follow the investors and their proposals so that detailed project report can be readied by November-December this year," a highly placed government official who participated in the review meet said.

An online tracking and monitoring system has also been devised at Madhya Pradesh Trade and Facilitation Corporation. "As many as 99 proposals are more than Rs 500 crore each, while a total of Rs 6.89 lakh crore investment proposals have been received during the summit from 3177 investors. "All these proposals pertain to as many as twenty one departments as a result it requires a system in place for monitoring," the official said. All the investment proposals will be monitored on weekly and monthly basis.
