Government will compensate all private schools which provide 25 per cent reservation to poor students in admission, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal informed the Rajya Sabha today.

He said though the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Bill 2008 was yet to become a law, action will be taken against whoever violated it.

Sibal also said stern action would be taken against any private school in the capital violating the Delhi High Court directive to provide 15 per cent quota in admission to children belonging to weaker sections.

The minister said the Bill, passed by Rajya Sabha yesterday, has taken a long time before becoming a reality and stringent action would be taken against anybody who violates it.
