"No decision has been taken yet on the party's stand on the Trust vote," JD(S) Secretary General Danish Ali said.

When asked whether the proposed meeting of Deve Gowda with the Prime Minister was an indication that JD(S) would back the government, he said it did not mean so.

"The meeting does not mean that we are going to support the government," he said.

The political affairs committee of the JD(S), whose three MPs would be crucial for survival of the government, will meet tomorrow to decide its stand with regard to the confidence motion.

Gowda, who arrived here in the morning to meet the Prime Minister, refused to divulge his party's strategy, saying he will consult JD(S) leaders before deciding on whether they should support the government.

The Prime Minister had called up Gowda yesterday to seek his party's support.
