The conference will be held for promoting green power in the country to seek private sector participation as well as government help to enhance the promotion of green power in India.
At present 95 per cent of the investment in renewable energy comes from the private sector and the government participation need to increase.
Talking to the media on the future of renewable energy, Ramesh Kymal, chairman-GBC Renewable energy council said, "At the time when power situation in the country is going through a bad phase, the renewable energy is the need of the hour and should be promoted to meet the huge power shortage in the country."
Renewable energy contributes less than two per cent of the total production of power in the country through wind energy, biomass, hydel and bio-fuels and it should be promoted to meet the grim situation of power shortage in the country, he added.
