Guj forest dept gets Rs 678 cr from JBIC

The purpose of the project is to conserve the existing dense natural forests with their bio-diversity and wildlife restore the degraded forest and augment productivity of forests, protect forest and forest land from further degradation and improve livelihood for and enhance capacity building of the local people who are dependent on forests. 

 

The project aims at departmental forest development and management, social forestry development, wildlife conservation and management, community and tribal development, strengthening of executive body, capacity building of peoples organisation and infrastructure development. 

The 11 tribal districts including Dangs, Narmada, Vadodara, Panchmahals, Dahod, Banaskantha falling under eastren belt of Gujarat are covered under this project besides other areas from Rajkot, Jamnagar and Kutch.
