Guj govt plans to develop airport at Dwarka

Gujarat government has invited private companies to develop an airport at Dwarka, the capital of lord Krishna'sterrestrial kingdom, to turn the city into a centre of pilgrimage.

State tourism minister Jaynarayan Vyas told PTI on Saturday that chief minister Narendra Modi has expressed his desire of an airport there, when the minister was in the town to dedicate a gold studded throne for the Lord Krishna.

The government has chalked out a master plan of Rs 50 crore for developing amenities and facilities to make Dwarka a centre of pilgrimage, he said adding that develop amenities and facilities around the temple premises will be the priority. The Dwarkadish temple here honours Lord Krishna and attracts thousands of pilgrims and devotees from different parts of the country and abroad.
