The Gujarat Assembly was today adjourned amid uproarious scenes in the House after Congress demanded a discussion on the law and order situation in the state following the arrest of former Minister Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

The Congress today raised the demand for discussion on law and order situation in Gujarat after the arrest of Shah and other policemen in the 2005 fake encounter case. Speaker Daulat Desai however rejected the demand following which Congress members started shouting slogans inside the House. Later, BJP members also indulged in sloganeering against the CBI.

Raising of slogans by the members of the ruling and opposition parties led to a lot of commotion after which Desai adjourned the House for an hour. Congress members continued their protest after coming out of the house and also displayed placards condemning the law and order situation in the state.

“The Speaker has not given us the chance, so we will once again raise the issue in the House,” GPCC President Siddharth Patel said.
