Gujarat biotech park to come up next year

 Nineteen companies including a few big players in the pharmaceutical sector have already committed to set up their units in the park being set up by an Ahmedabad-based company on the outskirts of the city.

 Gujarat accounts for 40 per cent of the total national pharmaceutical production and pharma majors such as Zydus Cadilla Healthcare, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Paras Pharma and Torrent Pharma are based in the state.

 This park will provide a boost to entrepreneurs in the pharmaceuticals industry, Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd, which is setting up the park, said.

 The construction of the park will start on December 15 and the companies can start taking possession of their units from February 15, the company said.

 Ganesh Housing Corporation is one of the largest construction companies in the state. The park is being set up near Bavla on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway.
