The Gujarat government aims to sign more than 17,000 investment intentions during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held in Gandhinagar from January 11-13.
“We are looking to sign more than 17,000 investment intentions at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat summit. At the last meet in 2013, we had also signed the same number of investment deals. About 60 per cent of the MoUs signed at the earlier Vibrant Gujarat summits have fructified. This is higher than the all-India average of 20 per cent,” said B B Swain, vice chairman and managing director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation.
“We are no longer limiting ourselves to Gujarat. We want to showcase Vibrant Gujarat as the premier business summit of the country. Its a forum where Indian business meets international business. We are inviting business leaders and government officials of Odisha to be a part of this summit,” he added.
Addressing reporters, Ratanlal Vora, minister for social justice and empowerment said, “Our focus is on inviting more and more industries so that employment can be generated for our youths. The last edition of Vibrant Gujarat in 2013 was attended by over 2000 delegates from 121 countries.” The seventh Vibrant Gujarat Summit, a biennial event, would be held from January 11-13. A delegation of the Gujarat government led by Vora today held a roadshow for this upcoming event.
