Natural gas distributor Gujarat Gas today reported a 19.55 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 36.12 crore for the first quarter ended March 31, 2009.
The firm had a net profit of Rs 44.90 crore in the March quarter of FY'08, Gujarat Gas said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The income from operations dipped 8.37 per cent to Rs 305.68 crore during the March quarter, from Rs 333.60 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Shares of Gujarat Gas were trading at Rs 260.35, up 2.10 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
