The Gujarat government has launched the Gujarat Bank of Wisdom, an initiative to reach out to the masses. It aims to collect, crystallise and implement suggestions from the general public.

"This is a unique project conceptualised by chief minister Narendra Modi. We are receiving ideas and suggestions from people across all sections of the society. Lots of suggestions have been worked upon and are in the process of implementation," said Anil Mukim, additional principal secretary to the chief minister.

To send suggestions and advice to the state government, one needs to register on the homepage www.gujaratbankofwisdom.com and interact with the government on topics for the discussion board at the website.

The topics for the discussion board include science and technology, industries and mines, energy, petrochemicals, finance, health, water resources, ports and fisheries, agriculture, forests and environment, primary education, higher and technical education, women and child development, rural development, tribal development, urban development, roads and buildings, labour and employment, food and civil supplies, information, judiciary, revenue and sports amongst others.

The suggestions may also be posted on the website, so that others can see them and give their inputs, which will help in evaluation and analysis of the suggestion through healthy discussion before implementing them.

Grievances can be submitted through the official website of the state government, www.gujaratindia.com, under the citizens section.

Registration of users will help the government know the background of the person making the suggestion and interact with him better.

There is a monthly online forum where concerned government officials and experts discuss a chosen topic. "Just after the elections we will launch a monthly online forum for discussing topics of importance. The state government has always valued the suggestion of the people. With the Gujarat Bank of Wisdom, we have systemised the entire process," said Mukim.

"The Gujarat Bank of Wisdom reaches out to you by helping you to reach the government, and stores ideas and advices to make today and tomorrow better."
