Despite scorching sun and vacation, Gujarat has recorded reasonable voter turnout of 47.92% in the Lok Sabha polls held in the state yesterday.
Turnout of male voters is 52.15% as against 43.38% turnout of women voters.
According to the figures released by the election authorities, there were 3, 64,66,933 voters registered in Gujarat out of which 1,74,75,932 exercised their franchise in the Parliamentary polls.
Out of 1,88,85,541 male voters, 98,49,723 voted while 76,26,209 famale voters out of 1,75,81,392 famale voters voted.
Highest turnout has been recorded in Junagadh constituency where 57.9 per cent people participated in the voting while only 39.76%voters participated in Surendranagar, which has been the lowest turnout, disclosed the election authorities.
Apart from Junagadh, other five constituencies including Gandhinagar 50.82 %, Chhota Udeipur 54.13 %, Bharuch 57.14, Bardoli 57.8 and Valsad 56.11 %, have seen above 50% voting turnout in the state.
