Sunday was a marked day for vernacular journalism in the state as Divya Bhaskar, a Gujarati daily of the Dainik Bhaskar group, was launched in Ahmedabad.
Officials of the media group claimed that they have set a Guinness record by launching the edition with a print run of over four lakh copies as the newspaper hit the stands on Sunday.
The launch function on Saturday was attended by several VIPs including deputy prime minister and chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.
