A Bahrain-bound Gulf Air flight today landed in emergency conditions at the city airport due to a technical problem.

The flight landed safely and all passengers are safe, a Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) spokesperson said.

"Gulf Air flight GF 057 left Mumbai at 1032 hour and returned to Mumbai at 1124 hours due to technical problem," he said.

After landing, the aircraft got stuck at the runway, but it was soon towed away to a parking bay, he said, adding that the runway was cleared for operations at 1152 hour.

There was a local emergency declared for the landing, but it was not a full emergency, the spokesperson said.
