District Gurgaon in Haryana which is known as millennium city and famous for IT sector, has bagged first place in average yield per hectare of Bajra crop which is 22.35 quintal per hectare in the district. The district would be awarded with a cash prize of Rs one lakh in Kisan Sammelan by the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Bajra has been the major kharif crop of this district and about 32,000 hectare area has been cultivated under Bajra crop during kharif season of 2013-14. He said that besides this, Mahabir, a resident of village Jatoal, block Farrukh Nagar has been selected best farmer for highest yield per hectare of mustard crop.
Mahabir has set an example by harvesting 38.13 quintal per hectare during Rabi season of 2012-13. Similarly, Surender Kumar, a resident of village Pahari, block Pataudi has been selected best progressive farmer in Gurgaon for which the State Government would give an award of Rs 50,000 to him.

He said that Mrs. Krishna Yadav, a resident of village Bajghera, block Gurgaon has been selected for first prize in food processing in the State and an award of Rs 50,000 would be given to her.
