The move is seen as timely as Hyderabad is witnessing a growing preference among its denizens for an international shopping experience such as one at Suntec City, Singapore.
The Rs 2,000-crore GVK group, which has presence in power, hospitality, infrastructure, biotech and power sectors, is constructing an international standard shopping mall in an area of 14,500 square yards on Road No. 1 of the posh Banjara Hills.
To come up on the lines of prestigious Suntec City mall in Singapore with an investment of Rs 60 crore, exclusive of land value, the mall has been designed by D P Architects which has provided architecture for several shopping malls in Singapore and Kaula Lampur including Suntec City.

To be implemented by GVK eCity Private Limited, a closely-held company of the GVK group, the shopping mall will have a built-up space of 5.25 lakh square feet with a parking space for 800 cars.
The state tourism department has accorded fast-track project status for the shopping mall. The mall will house a multiplex theatre, hyper market and food courts in addition to several big shops.
