Haryana approves 600-Mw project

The Haryana Government has approved the proposal of Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd for the establishment of an additional unit of 660 Mw with Super Critical Technology at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Station in Yamuna Nagar.

Speaking after chairing the 75th meeting of the Board of Directors of PGCL, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary Power Madhusudhan Prasad stated that this would be the first super critical unit to be established by HPGCL at a cost of about Rs. 3,300 crore. He added that the Board of Directors had given the go ahead for the engagement of engineering and design consultants for the establishment of the project at a fast pace.

 

He added that this would enhance the generation capacity of the existing Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Station (DCRTPS), Yamuna Nagar to 1,260Mw. He added two units of 300Mw capacity each were already functioning at Yamuna Nagar.
