Haryana has distributed Rs 9,834.73 crore from March 2005 to March 2010 to the farmers for the land acquired by Haryana Urban Development Authority (16,362 acre), Haryana State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation (19,868 acre), Public Works Department - Building and Roads (386 acre) and Irrigation department (6,618 acre). Talking to media, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, the average compensation comes to be Rs 22,74,000 per acre that is among the highest in the country.
Highlighting the achievements of his government, Hooda said, according to the report of the Chief Economist of National Council of Applied Economic Research, in case of Per Capita Net State Domestic Product (PC-NSDP) for major states at constant prices of Rs 1,999- Rs 2,000, Haryana ranks at the top with Rs 59,008 for current prices of 2007-08. Other states like Punjab had PC-NSDP for same prices as Rs 46,686, Maharashtra (Rs 47,051) and Gujarat (Rs 45,773), Kerala (Rs 43,104), Uttar Pradesh (Rs 24,472) and Bihar (Rs 15,501).
He said, on an average, the Gross State Domestic Product growth of Haryana in the 11th Plan was 9.5 per cent and it was expected 11.0 per cent in the 12th Plan. This, he said, was on the basis of mid-term appraisal of 11th Five Year Plan.
He said, in case of level of hunger in India, as mentioned in the report, Haryana ranked at number three among the states with low range of 0.031-0.409. The two states above Haryana are Punjab and Kerala. The states which fell in the category of moderate hunger with range (0.410-0.566) include Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. States with high range of 0.567-0.742 include Orissa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Bihar. The three states which fell in the category of very high range of hunger (0.743-0.939) include Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
He added, the date for the state Budget will be decided after the discussion with Planning Commission of India on February 25.
