The Congress-led government in Haryana presented a tax-free Budget on Friday. This was the last Budget to be presented in the state Assembly by the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government as the state goes to poll in October . In the Budget, state finance minister Harmohinder Singh Chattha has proposed an overall outlay of Rs 32,731.3 crore of the annual plan for FY15. The total receipts under the Budget estimates for FY15 are projected at Rs 47,690.2 crore - an average increase of 14 per cent over the revised estimates of the previous year.
Despite a slowdown in the automobile and real estate sectors - two major sources of revenue - the state has been able to contain the revenue and fiscal deficits, Budget documents showed.
