Haryana to use ISI pumps for agriculture

The Haryana government has implemented a scheme for conservation of energy in the agriculture sector. Under this, financial assistance at the rate of Rs 400 per Horse Power (HP) is being provided to the farmers who install ISI/ four star-rated pump sets in their tube wells.

Haryana Power and Renewable Energy Minister Mahender Partap Singh said that up to March 2009 nearly 4,056 tube wells had been upgraded by installing ISI pump sets under the scheme by providing financial assistance to the tune of Rs 1.76 crore.

During the current financial year, a provision of Rs 92.50 lakh had been made for providing subsidy to the farmers on installation of ISI mark/ four star-rated pump sets, he added.

 

About 30 to 35 per cent electricity could be saved by replacing these local made pump sets with ISI marked/star rated pump sets and by installing the optimum capacity pump sets.
