Disclosing this today, State Minister for Tourism and Forests Kiran Choudhry said that the record net profit for the year 2007-08 was Rs five crore as against the net profit of Rs 3.22 crore recorded in the year 2006-07, showing an increase of Rs 1.78 crore.
She said that the occupancy during the year 2007-08 was 79 per cent as against the occupancy of 76 per cent during the year 2006-07. Choudhry said that under the various initiatives taken by the Haryana Government for the girl child and women of the State, the Tourism Department has also given various incentives to the female clientele in all the restaurants of the Corporation.
The Minister said that the record increase in the turnover, profitability and occupancy had been possible only because of improvement in the quality of food, in the supply and quality of linen and up-gradation of the facilities at the tourist complexes.
At present, the Corporation is having 832 rooms accommodation with 1831 beds at various Tourist Complexes. The total number of Tourist Complexes is 44 and out of this, the Tourist Complexes on the National Highway and State Highway is 19, the Tourist Complexes in District Headquarters and other important places is 17 and the complexes around Delhi is eight.
