Peter T Hassan, industries adviser to the Andhra Pradesh government, has been appointed as chief coordinator to interface with foreign missions in Delhi and Indian missions abroad on behalf of the state.
The focus would be on getting more foreign investments to AP across the sectors, particularly in the manufacturing segment. The thrust would also be on biotechnology and tourism.
Hassan now enjoys the rank of a cabinet minister. He got an extension as coordinator for bringing investments to the state in June 2009 for three years. He has been in the adviser’s post since June 2004.
Hassan is also the Honorary Consul for the Russian Federation in Hyderabad- the first such position in Andhra Pradesh and for the Russian Federation in India.
He was instrumental in attracting big investors for setting up industries in the state.
Recently, he facilitated a protocol on the implementation of agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and Andhra Pradesh. The Russian Federation was here to explore the possibilities of setting up units for manufacturing power plant machinery, assembling aircraft and helicopters and other units. It also signed agreements with the state.
