HC against handing over Telgi case to CBI

 The Mumbai High Court was told by the counsel for former Mumbai police chief R S Sharma that the names and telephone numbers of 19 ministers (politicians) from Maharashtra were contained in one of the diaries recovered from fake stamp paper scam accused Abdul Telgi and urged for the case being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

 The court has, however, decided against doing so while also directing the state government to immediately serve the chargesheet upon Sharma.

 In his order, CK Thakkar, chief justice of the Mumbai High Court, said,
