HDC deputy chairman within a month: Ministry

Providing relief to the woes of Haldia Dock Complex(HDC), a part of Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT), which is operating without a Deputy Chairman for last four months, the Ministry of Shipping said that it would make the appointment within a month. “For a long time, KoPT was working without a chairman. We picked a chairman and deputy chairman for the port recently. Now, we are looking for an efficient officer to take charge of the daily operations in HDC, which has a number of new projects lined up. It is vital to pick the right candidate. Currently, the file is with me and we will take a decision on this within 15 to 20 days,” said Mukul Roy, Union minister of state for shipping.
