High alert sounded across Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has sounded an high alert across the state after a blast shook the entrance of the Delhi HC. Home minister RR Patil asked the public to inform the police about unattended objects and suspected persons. With Ganesh Chaturthi being celebrated on a large scale, he has asked the people to be vigilant.

Said U C Sarangi, additional chief secretary (home), "Police personnel have been asked to take extra steps to maintain law and order to ensure the ongoing Ganesh festival passes off smoothly. Ganesh mandals, particularly, have been asked to remain in constant touch with the police and strictly follow the security guidelines."
